The library has many e-journals and e-books through the database SpringerLink. The database includes subjects such as science and technology, social sciences, humanities, economics, computing and informatics. In science and technology: chemistry, physics, medicine, biomedicine, mathematics, statistics, environment and construction. There are many interesting and important books and journal articles in full text. Journals extends over virtually all the collections, but the e-books that you can access via the library’s subscriptions are behavioral science, business and economics, chemistry and materials science, computer science, engineering, and mathematics and statistics.
Springer has an interesting service called MyCopy where you as a researcher or a student here at the University of Borås can get your own printed copy of an e-book directly from the web page at a cost of 24.99 (USD / EUR) and have it sent home without postage. It works a bit like print on demand, you order the book, it will be printed in black and white with color covers and sent home. (note that all the illustrations in the book are printed in black and white) It does not apply to all of the books in SpringerLink so you may start to look for the Mycopy box when you found the book you want. It may look like this:
How does it work?
- Go to SpringerLink through the library website.
Search for the book you are interested in and look for MyCopy box.
- Add book to Cart
Click on Buy now and your book is now in the cart.
- Pay for your copy
Click Go to check-out and then pay with your credit card or PayPal, and you receive a print copy sent to you within 8-10 business days.
